As the wedding season continues, leading Indian couture designer Shehla Khan has invigorated her collection with ultra-modern and artistic outfits for brides. Acknowledged for her sensual, sophisticated and cutting edge designs, her inspiration for this range is romance, soft colours,florals, flowy fabrics, stars and hearts is what she’s primarily working with. The aroma of romance has hit top notch in every piece that she has designed for the brides to be. Shehla shares her thoughts about her new haute designs, “My collection sums up completely in these words light weigh, glamorous, flowy, romantic and sharp placement of embellishments. Each piece has its own uniqueness while keeping in mind the needs and demands of the clients. These ensembles bring in cultural richness and modernity. The collection draws inspiration from romance that were crafted with immense detailed work and still were classy and elegant”.

About Shehla Khan
Shehla received her formal education in design from the prestigious London College of Fashion, followed with a one year course in SNDT, Mumbai and finished with masters in styling from the Instituto Marangoni in Milan.

Shehla‘s father is the proprietor of Saks India and has been part of the embroidery business for the past 25 years. He has worked with some of the highest, most reputed names in the international fashion world such as Escada, Elie Saab and Valentino to name a few. Having had the opportunity to meet a few of these designers personally and being exposed to each of their aesthetic sensibilities – this provided to be a great source of inspiration for Shehla. She has also travelled with Italian designer Giuseppe Daegatano who’s worked with names like Gucci and Roberto Cavalli. Shehla has also worked with celebrity designer Manish Malhotra. She is the red carpet favorite for leading ladies of Bollywood. Shehla has her flagship store in Bandra.
